Storage Virtualisation
By replacing dedicated physical memory allocation per user with a virtual allocation from a shared storage pool one can allocate as much storage as is needed only as its needed (thin provisioning). Across the organisation this reduces the amount of total storage required at the same time as making it a more flexible resource. Storage virtualisation can also act as the enabler for improved security, resilience, disaster recovery and backup capability.
